Sponsored by the Delaware African American Heritage Councill, in partnership with United Way Delaware County and Richwood Bank, the 4th Annual Soul Food Soiree will be held on Saturday, May 13, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m at the Willis Education Center, 74 W. William St. The Soiree was developed to celebrate the rich African American culinary tradition and reinforce our ancestral ties to agriculture. Soul food, which originated in the South, celebrates the ingenuity and skill of cooks who were able to form a distinctive cuisine despite limited means. We invite the community to indulge in food from the heart and soul, to gain deeper insight and understanding of African American culture while forming connections over a common unifier: good food!
