Gallery 22 - The Arts Castle's downtown Delaware art gallery and shop - is seeking volunteers to help us fulfill our mission of nurturing the creative energies of the residents of Delaware County and beyond by providing accessible, rotating art exhibits as well as offering handmade items and artwork for sale.
In this volunteer role you will be responsible for processing sales and payments for Gallery 22 shoppers as well as educating visitors about the current art on display. You will also help promote the mission of Gallery 22 and The Arts Castle by informing guests of our offerings. You will also assist in tidying up and cleaning the gallery when needed.
Shifts are typically 2-2.5 hours, although how many hours you would like to contribute per day/week is up to you. You may be occasionally asked to help in distributing marketing flyers for new shows, events, and classes (both at Gallery 22 and The Arts Castle) as well as assisting in the set up/tear down of exhibits. Occasional special events/parties may occur, such as the annual Holiday Art Fair reception (generally in November) requiring more volunteers than normal.
Retail experience (Square POS) is a plus but not required; training will be held to help you become familiar with the system if selected.
The expectations of the position can be adjusted depending on physical ability and preference. Volunteers are always welcome to pair up and/or bring a buddy for their shifts!
