The Arts Park will be hosting a house tour June 8, touring "kit-homes" in the Northwest Neighborhood. Those homes were ones built from the 1910s to 40s, ordered out of a catalog and shipped by train. Homeowners use this pre-cut "kit" to assemble their homes. There are over 30 in the NWN and some homeowners have plans, catalogs and other artifacts to share.
Volunteers are needed to sign in the tourists, sell additional tickets, and work in the homes to tell stories provided by the home owners and direct the tourists through the self-guided tour.
Tourists will check in at Boardman Arts Park, then travel on their own to each location in the historic Northwest Neighborhood.
Volunteers are invited to a pre-tour that allows them to see all of the homes the evening before the public event.
